How it started

Vancouver, Granville Island Market — one of the many stalls tucked inside. Yeah, I know, it’s not the "official" birthplace of poutine. But hey, it’s still Canada.
Like a brother from a different mother. Québec is the real mom, Vancouver’s the cool stepmom who still feeds you well.

Crispy fries, squeaky cheese, and rich gravy. One perfect, salty bite that makes you want to sing O Canada.

The Taste

Poutine is messy in the best way possible.

Crispy fries soaking up rich gravy, cheese curds stretching with every bite — f**king addictive.

The best part? It’s a blank canvas. Keep it classic or load it up with smoked meat, pulled chicken, caramelized onions, or even a fried egg. There’s no wrong way to eat it.

For me, it’s everything—a snack, a full meal with extra protein on top. No rulebook, just good food that fills the belly.

Why poutine

As someone who enjoys snacks over the idea of a "proper meal," I knew poutine deserved a spot in our lineup. It’s satisfying, familiar yet exciting, and perfect for any time of the day.

But more than that, it ties into a big part of my life. Just like in Paris, but that’s a story for another time.

Some history lesson

Poutine’s origins trace back to Québec in the 1950s. The exact story behind its creation? Still up for debate.

Different towns claim to be the true birthplace, but one thing is certain—poutine has become a cultural icon.

It even earned a spot on Time Magazine’s 2014 list of the 13 Most Influential Foods of All Time.

Poutine is now enjoyed all over the globe—from New York to Paris. We're excited to be the ones introducing it here in Johor Bahru.
